Guest guest
What can I substitute for dairy in many recipes, like bread, muffins or any dishes that call for dairy(dccc or yogurt). Yes been on scd 5 years but still learn new stuff. I dont know what to use in place of it? Guest guest
Jody I just leave the dairy out of recipes, since I have become casein sensitive. Sometimes I’ll add extra juice or applesauce if it looks like I need more liquid, sometimes I’ll add an egg if I think the recipe is using yogurt or DCCC to hold things together. I don’t make any of the recipes that are using DCCC or yogurt as the major ingredient, however, such as the cheesecake or “ice cream.” The one recipe I haven’t been able to make successfully without dairy are the crackers. I can’t find an alternative that works. Although I have to admit I haven’t tried extensive testing -- I only have so much energy to spare, I guess [grin]. Kim M.
