Guest guest
Hey guys, I've been on the scd for about 10 days now and just had a colonoscopy today. Given the level of inflamation my dr recomended a course of pred ontop of my mesalamine. My question is, for those who have been on scd a while, how long did you have to take pred. for if at all. What was your experiance? -
Guest guest
Hey ! I am probably a very extreme case- I've been on prednisone for 18 years. I have been on the diet for almost a year and am still on it. However, I know that the diet is working because I am feeling good enough to slowly taper and hopefully one day get off it. The results I've had from the diet have been better than prednisone, but when I started I was too inflammed and needed it to keep things under control. There is nothing wrong with using meds during SCD. If the prednisone will help you get this flare under control, than the diet can take hold and really give you that extra push! It will make tapering off of your dose much easier! -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 20mg Prednisone > > Hey guys, I've been on the scd for about 10 days now and just had a colonoscopy today.
