Surgery Buddies/ Preparation Info

Greetings to All

I have finally been approved for surgery and my date is set for Dec.

12th at 6:30am Lord willing. It has been a very long process for me

with this surgery (almost 4 years since I first found out that I

needed surgery) and I will be oh so excited when I am on the other

side. I am not sure of the technical names of what I will be having

done but I know that my lower jaw will be rotated 7mm to theright and

set back 2mm and I know that my upper jaw will be moved forward 2mm.

They were thinking of doing the 3-piece on my upper jaw but since I

have had my braces on they now feel that it might not be necessary.

I was just wondering if anyone else would be having surgery around

this time. I am a student at the University of Florida(GO GATORS!!!!)

and I will have my surgery at Shands Hospital.

I also wanted to know if anyone had any advice about surgery prep. I

am concerned about weight loss/ gain. I have seen some really helpful

posts about swelling and eating, but now that it is crunch time I am

trying to compile all of my information so that I can be fully

prepared.

Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated and I just want to

thank everyone here for all of their helpful and informative advice.
