Guest guest
To " wannabewarrant " - Hello and welcome to the " Braces Group " ! You are not alone; I have had my braces on for 13 weeks now, and the first week is the worst but you will do just fine. Take a Motrin or something before you go - it will help with the discomfort. I'm 47 and have an underbite and will be having double jaw surgery by next June. My surgical procedures will include a BSSO to set back my mandible and a LeFort 1-piece (Maxillary Osteotomy) to advance my maxilla and drop it down in front. Are these the procedures you are having done? How long will you be in braces prior to your surgery? I will be in braces up to ten months prior to and up to six months after my surgery. My teeth have moved so-o fast already; my OD is very pleased at my progress. When you get your braces installed, ask if you can have Continuous Force Wires; they are a special wire that exerts constant pressure on the teeth to get them to move alot faster. Most cutting-edge OD's use them these days; in fact, that is all my OD uses for all his patients. Well, take care. Let us know how it goes. ~~~ Diane (Idaho) :-)#) [emoticon: happy with braces]--- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " wannabewarrant " <wannabewarrant@y...> wrote: > > Well, I am just about to get my braces and then have a double jaw > surgery to correct my open bite.
