Guest guest
Beverly, I almost missed your post but I finally caught up with it. If you are over 50 you qualify for senior housing which is better than family housing (less noise, coming and going, unruly kids, etc). Your rent is based on your income, including your assests such as your house. Owning a house will not disqualfy you.. They will use any interest you earn in calculating your rent. By all means apply and the manager will explain these things in more detail. Most senior housing is well built, comfortable, well maintained and well below market rents. And you have no maintenance to do, no lawn care, no garbage to worry about and if you are lucky you will a handsome dirty old man like me for a landlord. LOL Jack79/IPF - UIP/dx06/05 Maine To: Breathe-Support Sent: Sun, January 3, 2010 7:35:13 PMSubject: Jack Hello Jack, If you have been reading my posts then you know that I need to get out of this house. This is a poor area and I have lowered the price twice and it just won't sell. So my question is: Is there any way to get into low income housing while I still own this house? Once it is sold I can afford regular housing as long as I don't outlive the money. If I move I I will still have to pay homeowner's insurance and they will probably raise it. I will also have to pay the property taxes. I should be able to get the water pipes drained and shut off the power. Who knows. Maybe I can't even afford low income housing with my new expensive medicines. Anyhow you are the man who knows these things.I'm glad you are doing so well. We all love you and missed you. Guest guest
Thanks, Peggy. Yes, I'm still working on it. Getting back to work has been difficult. I tire easily now, it gets better everyday. I now walk with any assistance - now walker, cane, etc., but I need oxygen because the right side is still weak and puts too great stress on the left side. I'm going to NC for the first two weeks of March. First time to stay in my new house there. The final move is still sometime away because I have to sell my housing projects. I have a company interested, but no deal struck as yet. Jack79/IPF - UIP/dx06/05 Maine To: Breathe-Support Sent: Tue, February 2, 2010 2:25:18 PMSubject: Jack Hi Jack, How are you doing?
