Guest guest
Tonya, I too went through the same things 2 times with my upper teeth not showing...However , my plate(s) wer broken so the bone moved up after the surgeries..Yes , I said surgeries...I have had 4 in all, 2 due to broken plates..the last one was 5 1/2 wks ago and so far good..My upper jaw is tight ..I was wired this time for 5 weeks, not wired afer the other surgeries...DO you think the plates may have cracked or broke? I went from a good amount of pretty teeth showing with a little of gummy smile..nothing very noticeable to normal people but then I felt like you I had taken false teeth out...not I have 1/2 of my upper teeth (maybe a little less) shoing when I open my mouth up...I will have to get fillers in my upper lip..the thickness has decreased and my upper lip is now very thin...this will also help to see more teeth for me... Ask you OS about the plate, does your upper jaw move at all? Just a thought espec since it does happen..Im so sorry you are going through this but the only was to fix it is prob another surgery ..I have been going through what I thought would be one surgery to 4 of them in a little over a year...Good luck to you, please kep me posted.. I have that already I am sorry to say, and this surgery is something that is supposed to resolve this for me, and is something I am really looking forward to. But I was also told, from the beginning, that I will also need to have crowns put on my front upper teeth to make them longer (which will make them be seen). They can move everything into position, but they can't make your teeth significantly longer with the surgery or braces. Braces are moving them vertically somewhat, but the rest has to be done with crowns, at least in my case. I am hoping you will find a similarly relatively easy way to rectify this. Please let us know what you find out. I am crossing my fingers for you, as I definately know what you are talking about! Hugs, Fran > > Hey, I'm 12 weeks post-op and everything was textbook.
