Guest guest
Just thought I'd let you know what happened today and want to thank everyone for the well wishes and thoughts. I went to ER this morning to see ps and he saw the swelling and saw where I was having pain, but for the life of him didn't know what it was. He said that in all his career he has seen only once and not this far out from surgery that a suture may have come apart and creates a hematoma, but where I'm having the pain is not where his " surgical line " is. He then called my gastro doc who I work for, from the ER and asked if he could take a look at me, Went over to his office where he too saw the swelling and found where the pain was (this is doctor #3 who has confirmed this), but didn't know what it was and wanted me to have a CAT scan. He took blood work (all normal) and urine (haven't heard yet) and sent me for a CAT scan. Keep in mind I just had a CAT scan done on Monday. My gastro doc called, lab work was fine. But the CAT scan showed blood in the soft tissue of the abdominal wall, right where the pain is, aka Hematoma, and said that the ovarian cysts are even bigger. Said that the treatment for right now would be pain killers, warm compresses, heating pad and rest. He said he couldn't believe the changes in the CAT scan from Monday to Friday and asked if I had sustained any trauma to this area. Told him none that I could think of. I then called the radiologist and asked him to give me more details and he said that it looks like I tore a stitch or a clip and that blood has formed in the fat of the abdomen again, Hematoma was mentioned. Since my " clips " or staples for the wls are way higher up, it has to be from the tt. Called my ps and left a message on his machine saying that he now officially has two patients that this has happened to. I don't know what he'll do with it. I'll speak with him on Monday. In the meantime, if the pain intensifies, I am to call the doc immediately and get to the ER. What they would do I do not know and frankly, don't want to at this point. Has this happened to anyone? There are so many of us out there who have had tt, I was just wondering if this has happened to any of you or am I really just that rare case that my ps was telling me about. Believe me, this is not a record anyone wants to hold. Right now feeling pretty comfortable on the Darvocet and Tylenol #3 and a heating pad. Thanks again for the help.
