Guest guest
Tigger, I think one of the things to remember in choosing foods, whether they're high-protein or high-carb, is to choose things that are bulky which fill the pouch and keep it filled up. Maybe a different approach to thinking about food might help. When we discovered my stoma was a little stretched, the doctor told me he wanted me on the " chicken-fried steak " diet. The purpose wasn't to emphasize protein or carbs, since it has both, but to fill the pouch up fast and keep it full for as long as possible. This works with animal food for me, and it works with certain low-glycemic veggies like broccoli, kale. Peanut butter on triscuits (whole wheat) plugs me up pretty good, too. All the best, in Austin RNY April 1998 315/190s Advice? Help? Encouragement? Hi, I think I've become dietically challenged. I haven't lost any weight in so long and am battling a lot of things right now, but still want to lose weight. The thing is I'm back to my pre-WLS confusion... do I do Atkins, do I do Weight Watchers, do I do just low cal, do I mix it all up a bitHugs to all, Tigger
