Guest guest
Hi my name is Barbara. I live in Bear, DE. I had GBS on November 20, 2003 at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. My surgeon was Dr. Alan Schuricht. At the time of my surgery I was about 320 pounds. I have lost 100 pounds as of 10 months post-op and haven't lost any since September, 2003. I am concerned because I feel that I am turning to " the old ways " . My life has improved tremendously. I am healthier than I have been in years. I can go for a walk and not feel that I am going to faint while I'm gasping for breath. This past summer I bought a bike and rode over 200 miles (not at one time). I did a 25 mile bike ride and cried at the end for doing it. Next year I want to do the 50-75 mile ride. I'm looking forward to that. I am 54 years old (on December 10). I have one daughter who has 3 sons and is expecting her 4th this summer. I believe that she and her husband must have lost their minds. LOL. I am divorced but I plan to marry my x-husband this March in Las Vegas. We love Vegas and can't wait for Elvis to do us the honor of marrying us. I feel this surgery has saved my life and I'm so grateful that I was able to have the surgery and become healthier. Now I don't want to blow it. I feel that I am and am beginning to get very concerned. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. I have to get back into the WLS habits and not go back to the old way of eating. Unfortunately I don't dump and can eat just about anything. Thank you. Wishing everyone much success in their journey. Barb
