Hi Diane,

Been thinking about you and hope things are coming along OK with the

braces so far. I know it seemed for awhile there that the day would

never come. I just wanted to say thanks for mentioning the Super Smile

toothpaste from QVC. I myself am an admitted QVC-aholic, and I have to

say that, while I would never make a habit of buying $15.00

toothpaste :), it really did get rid of a lot of that yellowish

staining on some of my teeth. Thanks for the recommendation!

See ya on the board, :)

Cammie - I ran it by my OD (actually gave him a small tube of it and

some info off the product's website)and he said it looked fine for me

to use; it's interesting what your OD told you about baking soda

interfering with the cement, as I have a few crowns in the front that

my OD used that special cement on. Thanks for the tip: I'll run it

past him again next Tuesday. What makes this toothpaste SO special is

its ability to eliminate stains and prevent the protein pellicle from

sticking to the teeth, thereby preventing plaque from forming. Since

using it, I have had great check-ups and much easier

cleanings. :-)#) Diane

Hey, Joanne - So, you're a QVC addict, too, huh? Glad you liked the

toothpaste; I've gotten better dental check-ups and easier cleaning

sessions since using it. I gave a small tube of it to my OD last

week, along with some reading material that I got off the Supersmile

website; he told me it's okay to use on the braces. Did you get your

braces on yet? I posted you last week, asking what your braces status

is. I go to my OD on Tuesday to get the spacers, and then the

following Tuesday to get the spacers out and the rest of the hardware

in (bands, archwires, and ligatures/o-rings). I'm also going to see

my OMS on Wednesday for another one of those question and answer

sessions; I will probably let him do the LeFort procedure, but I have

alot of questions for him to answer before I give him the go-ahead.

I'll let you know how both Tuesday & Wednesday go. :-)#) Diane---

  • 5 weeks later...

I was reading the post and just wondering if these things are related

to the jaw malformation? Since they are metabolic and I have seen

such things mentioned here before. I am insulin resistent caused

from polycystic ovarian syndrome.
