Guest guest
Yes, in Ontario, the surgery is covered 100% by our provincial health insurance plan (OHIP). I just paid for out-of-hospital care by my surgeon (visits to his office), which was C$ 1,200.
Guest guest
Hi Siggymurch, My insurance is covering my surgery at 80%, with a $1000 out of pocket pay cap as the surgeon is out of network. My hospital is in network, so that will be covered at 100% The most I will be out of pocket is $1000, but it looks like it will just be $700 due to lower surgeons fees. But my insurance would not have paid if I did not meet certain qualifying guidelines that they have predetermined. It is pretty much up to your OMS to write the letter for you to make that determination. And it is highly recommended that you get a written preauthorization if you are covered. I got mine BEFORE I was willing to shell out for the braces, which were not covered at all. I put down a small downpayment and am making monthly payments for the braces. Good luck to you with this! Hugs, Fran
