Also, just ceep's two cent's worth: The word gluttony means simply to

'swallow. " It does not carry in its meaning the idea of sin (separation

from God).

That was added much later.

In fact, early on in Christianity, the word gluttony was used in the

breath as " lechery, " the implication being that the practice of being

intemperate

in food and sex go together.
