Hello everyone,

I have a question reg the numbness..Im assuming you all are still numb in your

upper gum area even after this time post-op? I had upper and lower 5 weeks ago

and most all of the numbness in cheeks area is gone just a small amount in upper

lip but my upper gums are totally numb still..My last surgery it took 8-9 months

before I every started getting any feeling back in the gums..My surgeon says

this is normal but after 4 surgery in a year it scares me..

advise and your experience is greatly appreciated

txs

I had a similar amount of surgery (upper jaw into 3 pieces, lower

jaw backwards) 9 weeks ago and still have numbness in my chin and

left side of my bottom lip. I also chewed holes in my bottom lip

when I ate after having the splint removed. Its really easy to do,

so be careful! I had numbness under my left eye down to the corner

of my mouth for several weeks after surgery, but it is back to

normal now. The feeling is creeping in from my right side in my chin

and lip. I also have phantom itching and things in the numb parts,

its very annoying. :-) My surgeon has said its all normal and

since it is coming back, he's not concerned that its permanent.
