I do not recall anything about prednisone. Long-term steroid use can

stunt growth, I believe. But doctors are usually quite careful about

prescribing prednisone in small doses (e.g., 5 days). It has been a

miracle drug for me when I get chest illnesses -- it is the only thing

that clears them up. Jenn

Oral steroids can inhibit growth. Dr H was very upset when she

found out that we use them occasionally with . However, when

she realized we only do it when his asthma is out of control, and

then only 1 teaspoon a day for three days she was ok with it.

Generally winds up on prednisone about 4x year. In the grand

scheme of things, 12 teaspoons of anything in a year doesn't seem

like a lot to me.
