Guest guest
Everyone, don't forget that MAGIC's RSS/SGA division has the small pamphlets that have donation forms on them. We call them the " Scholarship Forms " but you can use them to raise money for YOUR OWN FAMILY TOO!!! Essentially, the pamphlet has photos, and describes RSS/SGA, and the convention, and why it is so important for a family to be able to go to the convention. On the very back, it has a tear off donation form. What YOU do is on the form it says " Yes, I want my donation to go to a specific family: " and YOU write in your family's name ahead of time on a bunch of the forms. Then you hand out the forms to everyone you know, people at church, etc. All donations are then made by your family and friends TO MAGIC, and mailed to them, so that they are tax deductible to your donor, BUT we (the RSS/SGA division) tracks all the donations, and we report back to you how much has been donated in your name. Then we mail out a tax deduction receipt and thank you, etc. You can then use those funds to help pay for almost anything related to the convention (airfare, gas, registration, hotel, meals) but not cigarettes, alcohol, etc. as the IRS prohibits that. For more information on this, you can contact Dayna at daycarney@ everestkc.net, or call MAGIC and ask for a certain number of the scholarship brochures to be mailed to you.
