Guest guest
Tina, I'm so glad you posted this info because I just picked up my first order of Chromagen Forte yesterday(was taking Niferex), and was also going to post this info from the little sheet in the box. In addition to not knowing about not lying down for 30 minutes (it's been mentioned here that some people take it when they wake up in the middle of the night), which is in BOLD letters, just as you've written it, I was not aware that it's not to be taken with or near whole grain breads or eggs, as well as dairy or caffeine. Iron is just so tricky. I'm finding the hardest part is trying to find several hours at night or late afternoon for the 2nd dose when I haven't or won't be eating in a while, and separated by a couple of hours from my bedtime dose of calcium and Nexium. in NJ ********************* > Hello fellow losers (and I mean this in a good weigh!!) o.k. Well, the other day after I picked up my refill for my Chromagen Forte, I was drinking a shake and started reading the pamphlet that always comes with it and for the first time I noticed in bold print DO NOT LIE DOWN FOR 30 MINUTES AFTER TAKING THIS MEDICINE. Well, that was news to me. So I decided to ask my wonderful Pharmacist today about that statement and her comments were " it may cause heartburn " . I asked if it could cause anything harmful (ulcerations and such) and she said no. I reminded her that I am a gastric bypass pt and she still said the only problem it could cause is heartburn. > > She also reminded me that not only are we not to take this with coffee or tea, but also not to take this with antacids, eggs, whole grain breads or cereals, milk, or milk products. > > So with that, I thought I'd help out and let you all know what I found out. > > Tina (jelly bean toes) & Sheriff too!! >
