Guest guest
Hey Everyone, How are you all? I am so excited. I am 3 months post op tomorrow and will be getting my braces off on Monday, November 21!!!!! I cannot wait. My Orthodontist is EXTREMELY happy with how my jaw turned out and people keep telling me how great I look. I am still basically completely numb on my chin/lower lip and front side of my jaw. I know that sounds weird, but I have feeling on the back side of my lower gums/jaw but none on the front side. I am slowly starting to get feeling back there though. If I touch a certain part of my chin, I get this extreme but fleeting pain going up my jaw through my teeth. It is not comfortable at all...and idiot me cannot help but touch it at least a couple times a day to see if it still hurts!!! I can chew most things but I am still very careful to eat mostly softer foods. And one of the most exciting things...I have lost 13 lbs since the surgery and am still going. The no eating thing jump started my weight loss, but I started eating healthier and drinking LOTS of water, and the lbs have just dropped off. The weight loss has also inspired me to start working out. I just ordered some exercise videos and equipment and when they come I will start my workout routine. Tomorrow my aunt goes in for the same surgery so it is going to be another stressful time for my family, but my mother is taking care of her during the day (her husband works during the day so he can't). My mother now knows what she should/shouldn't push on her to take. Well, I should probably get back to work. But I just wanted to give you all an update. Guest guest
Hi Austria, You sound like you are doing very well. I am really happy for you. And I am glad that your sensation is returning, even if a little unexpectedly in the way that it is returning. It must be a different nerve branch that impacts those different areas I would think. I can imagine that I would not be so apt to eat more challenging food, even when released to do so. I don't eat challenging food now, and that is just with braces!! lol Please send your aunt my best wishes for her surgery and recovery, and that her results are as beneficial as yours have been. Hugs, Fran > > Hey Everyone, > > How are you all? I am so excited. I am 3 months post op tomorrow and > will be getting my braces off on Monday, November 21!!!!! I cannot > wait.
