Guest guest
Fun! I was going to recommend dairy free pumpkin pie, but it would kinda be a little extra work for the caterer to have to start with a whole real pie pumpkin... (although I am baking these yummy pies like crazy right now - so yummy with an almond meal crust) So maybe " baked apples " (baked with butter & cinamon) or a pear tart w/ and almond/hazelnut flour crust or a berry cobbler with an almond flour topping easy banana soft serve - frozen banana chuncks pureed in the food processor topped with toasted pecans, honey, and coconut I am sure there is probably a legal macarron recipe out there too it's kinda tricky, because you would almost want to try and supply the recipe for the caterer, so there weren't any accidental illegals. What a sweet friend you have!!! - SCD 4 Months > > So, I've been asked to provide a list of things I CAN eat so there will be something for me at a catered event I'm going to soon (hahaha!). VERY cool on the part of the hostess!!! So I'm wondering, what is your favorite dessert that you would request a caterer make? Thanks! > > Pam > www.newfoundsun.wordpress.com >
Guest guest
That's very nice of your hostess! I just wanted to interject one slightly word of caution though. Two of my friends got married and both of them set it up so that the caterers would make special food for me. For one, I gave them a recipe and they ended up getting it completely wrong and I couldn't eat it at all (ironically the chef for the rehearsal dinner for that wedding didn't get a recipe from me and he came up with a magnificent, legal dish!). For the other wedding & rehearsal they either forgot or precooked it so that the dish really wasn't all that great (and my body didn't respond all that well afterward). One of them did make a really nice fresh fruit plate for me for dessert however. Everyone at my table was jealous (though quite honestly if I could have traded digestive systems with them for that one meal so I could have their chocolate cake I certainly would have ). It tasted quite good. For my best friend's wedding, she actually ordered dessert from scdbakery (b/c she knew my body wouldn't react to that). So I really really hope that they come up with an amazing dish for you but I just wanted you to be careful Stacey > > So, I've been asked to provide a list of things I CAN eat so there will be something for me at a catered event I'm going to soon (hahaha!).
