Any dangers in overusing Breathe-Right strips?

I'm 5-days post op and had some terrible nasal congestion, and Affrin

was helping a little, but not as much as I would like, and besides,

I'm trying not to use it for more than 3 days like the bottle says

anyway.

I found Breathe-Right nasal strips to be a true god-send...they really

help keep my nasal passages open. I notice on the box it says not to

use them for more than 12 hours / day. Anyone know just why this is,

and if there's any risk in using them more than that? If I had my

way, I'd have one on 24/7.

poor traderdan!

I would think that the only danger in overusing the breathe-rights would be that

you might

irritate the skin on your nose. As I remember, they are quite sticky and harder

to get off.

You may need a few hours off a day just to let your skin take a break.

Poor baby -- you are having a time of things, aren't you. I am so

sorry...

Afrin is definitely somethinig to be careful about overusing. I can't

think of a reason to be leery of the Breathe-Rights, though, unless you

poor skin is so weary of struggling.

Have you tried any of the humidifying things? Steam, or a vaporizer, or

hot tubs or showers? Those work best for many folks. Honest.
