How are you preparing your fruits and veggies?I am boiling, seeding and pureeing the carrots, zucchini and apples. Bananas are very ripe with spots. I did not do well with spinach I boiled and pureed the spinach and added to egg cooked in omelette. You can try home made pecan butter and can bake items using nut butters instead of nut flourI make almond butter and bake with it and don't use any nut flour have you tried turkey and fish?I tolerate fish, and turkey is very difficult to find here in Australia.I just feel as if I am stuck with nine foods ( eggs, chicken, fish, almond butter, olive oil, zucchini, carrot, apple and banana) and can't introduce any others without a recurrence of symptoms ( gas, diarrhoea, bloating, nausea, rash, depression)My other questions were - Do you think the 9 foods I am eating, which do agree with me, are nutritionally adequate?- Do you have any advice as to how I could expand my foods apart from what I am currently doing?- Do you think I am progressing ok ie I need some encouragement, as I am at a low point at present and quite frustrated with my perceived lack of progress. With thanks in advance for your helpAMIBS 13/3/09SCD 22/6/10no meds IBSpre-SCD Severe Depression

Do you have yeast? Have you tried s. bouardii by any chance or otheryeast treatments? When Eileen was stuck on very few foods for a long time with some overlayof symptoms with yours, it turnedout she had really bad yeast. Just a possibility.MaraHow are you preparing your fruits and veggies?I am boiling, seeding and pureeing the carrots, zucchini and apples. Bananas are very ripe with spots. I haven't tried s.boulardii or any other yeast treatments and I don't know if I have yeast - but maybe if I read some posts on yeast I could work out if I have.CheersAMIBS 13/3/09SCD 16/6/10no meds IBSpre-SCD Severe Depression

SCD can progress slowly- but that is OK. You seem to be tolerating a variety of

food types for now, but I understand it can seem boring. The only way I know to

expand foods is trial and error. Some things that I did not tolerate early on, I

can now. Try to add more kinds of fish, nut butters (I do pecan and cashew-

cashew is a bit more starchy but I tolerated it early on ), different squashes-

I like acorn squash, cooked pears- and mix apple pear sauce- to get more

variety. I tolerated more fruits if I cooked and pureed them- so try doing this.

It seems slow and tedious at first, and yes, I also would cry in the kitchen

when I got frustrated trying to learn to cook and eat in a different way. Hang

in there- slow and steady, try new recipes- I love zucchini soup, cinnamon on

almost everything. Different nut butters have different flavors and change the

taste of baked items. Try adding a little pureed banana, apple, or zucchini to

muffins to get variety. I love home made SCD mayo- and I use olive oil to make

it because I like the taste. This is good in chicken and tuna salad.

As with everyone, I feel scared to keep trying new foods because they all make me sick - but the idea of 'going sideways' and eating varieties of the foods I can eat is a great RELIEF. It will give me time to heal as well as the feeling that I am not stuck.Thank you so much for replying to me again :-)AMIBS 13/3/09SCD 16/6/10no meds IBSpre-SCD Severe Depression
