Good experience with Hanger in Cincinnati

This is for anyone who is trying to decide among companies, and especially

people within driving radius of Cincinnati. I highly recommend the Cincinnati

office of Hanger.

My daughter is finishing up her Hanger helmet, and we were very pleased with the

experience. She started out at 6 months with brachycephaly, with a CI of 92,

and some plagio (6-7 mm). 6 months later, she has now finished, and her head

looks great. (The numbers are CI of 84 and 1 mm. I realize that 84 is slightly

above " normal " , but honestly no one could tell without measuring.) My

daughter's head grew extra slowly (we're a petite family, her head is in the 5th

percentile), As the helmet only works as the head grows, it's taken longer than

originally predicted (which was 3 months), but that's not Hanger's fault.

Not every Hanger office has experience with children's helmets, and from what

I've read in this chat group that makes a big difference. But the Wellington

Place branch in Cincinnati is right near Cincinnati Children's Hospital (where

she was diagnosed), so they have a lot of experience with infants. And the

technician there (her name slips my mind, but she's a slim woman about 25-30)

was wonderful with my daughter and did a great job. We never waited more than

5-10 minutes for our appointment, which was also appreciated. They also made

sure that the insurance completely covered it, which was amazing -- it probably

ended up costing us only $200, for the co-pays for the appointments.

Just my experience.
