Guest guest
Steve! I don't think posting about Tai Chi is OT at all! and it's great that you have! I know a few people who are devotees and they swear by it. Not just for the obvious benefits you mention, but it is reknowned as a stress reducer. Good for you and your wife! I think it's wonderful that you two have this mutual recreation (or whatever you wanna call it!) to explore together! I have been trying to get my husband to go to yoga classes with me, but NO WAY! And I have to tell you, some years back, he suprisingly tried out a Tai Chi class at which he farted his way through the entire exercise. I am sure the other participants were ecstatic when he dropped out! LMAO! So maybe it's not such a bad thing that I can't get him to take yoga with me! Guest guest
This reminded me of a funny story. Years ago while I was taking care of my terminally ill mother and my newborn son, I was heading for a breakdown and it was starting to show. One of my well intentioned friends talked me into goint to a Tai Chi class with her one night a week so I could learn how to relax. Tim stayed home with my mom and the baby (God Bless him) and off I went to this class. By the second week I found myself becoming very agitated during class and my girlfriend asked me what was wrong and I said to her, " I wish this woman would get to the point already, she's going so slow " with that my friend and about three other people around me busted out laughing. It was obvious that this was not the form of relaxation I could handle. Hell, I tap my foot in my sleep. I find it very beautiful to watch for about five minutes, then I have my fill. But it is a good form of exercise. On the relaxation front, I think I'm hopeless. Just sparked a memory and thought I would share.
