Guest guest
Hi - Isaac has been on meds since birth. His TSH levels when he was born were over 1,000 !!! Dr. H asked if he had a scan done to see if he even has a thyroid but since the scan wasn't done before the medication was started his doc said it isn't an accurate indicator. They started sinthroid in the NICU and we have had bloodwork done every 2 months since then to monitor. Dr. H asked if he had a scan done to see if he even has a thyroid but since the scan wasn't done before the medication was started I don't think it is an accurate indicator. They lowered his dose last time but last weeks bloodwork showed a TSH level of 63 so we have to do bloodwork again in a month. His levels have maintained pretty well all this time but for some reason they are doing funky things right now! THanks for your input! > > Mimi, > > How high were his TSH levels? Did they start him on Meds? > Liam is on Synthriod. His levels were 17.9 when he was 14 months old....and with meds he is stable.... > > > R > Mom to Jed (13) Asthma, tics, CAPD > Liam (5) Asthma, Epilepsy, Hearing impaired, > SGA, Hypothyriod,Food Allergies. > Orlando Fl > >
