Coby's surgery complications

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to update anyone sense Coby's surgery

last Friday. The surgery went well, and the doc believes that he

achieved the quality we had hoped for and that this did it. After 4

surgeries, he does not think that he will need another …YEH! (We'll

see how it heals.) This was the first surgery he has had that we

didn't go in the night before. He did a normal fasting and even the

surgery was delayed a half an hour. His BS did great! He never

threw any keytones.

Friday night and Saturday Coby did great. He didn't sleep well, but

during the day he felt good and was playing well. I was even able

to take him off of the Tylenol with codeine and just use regular

Motrin. Sunday he began to have bladder spasms. Oh my God, they

are horrible. He just screams and thrashes in pain! The doctor

used a new type of tube for drainage. It is longer and harder then

the previous ones and it rubs his bladder and is causing these

spasms. They will not take the tube out until Monday, so we deal

with the consequences until then. Coby has not had a decent nights

sleep from last Friday until tonight. Tonight he finally slept for

4 hrs straight, but only because he is on 5 new kinds of

medications, which have made him constipated, so I will have to deal

with that again tomorrow.

I'm so happy the surgery was a success, but the rest of this

sucks!!!! I can handle a lot, but not being able to take away his

pain is killing me!

I hope everyone else is well; I'll catch back up on old posts next

week after this dreaded tube comes out.

Take care,

le, mom to:
