Cori, WooHoo!!!! Awesome news!! Congratulations on your new-found

freedom!! :-)#) I bet it's a bit scary though, not having the

splint to lean on. Wow, you're almost at the end of your Orthognathic

Journey, and I'm just at the beginning! I've just completed my third

week in braces and, boy, my teeth are moving like there's no

tomorrow! I went to my OD's office today to change my appointments

and got to see my OD briefly. He asked me to show him my smile and he

was very pleased with my progress. My first adjustment appointment is

next Tuesday; he says we will discuss my treatment timetable in light

of the current rate of movement. I asked him if my surgery could be

moved up (it's next summer but maybe move it to the spring?) and he

said we'll discuss it. I'm supposed to go to my OMS in December to

discuss my need for the LeFort (I will be definitely having the BSSO

set-back for my underbite), which will depend on how much my teeth

have aligned themselves in my arches. The gap between my upper two

front teeth has closed up and on my lower the teeth are turning to

close an area involving a crossbite. For me, everything's moving

right along!! /// Again, congratulations on your wonderful news.

Good luck Friday at your ortho appointment. Take care. ~~~ Diane---

Hi Cori,

Congrats on getting the splint out. It is amazing that the splint

gave you some comfort, but I wear a hinged knee brace for more-than-

routine activities, so I do know what you mean about missing the

support of knowing " where " you are supposed to be, whether it is

your knee or your bite. I am glad it is a temporary situaion for

you.

And congrats on the fair too! You are going to have a load of fun,

biting things that will be new to you! Way to go! And here is

hoping you don't need much tweaking post op too! Bonus!

Hugs,

Fran

I'm now 5 weeks post op. I have a splint and a rubberband on each

side. I was just wondering when you got you splint off. I think I

should be really close to getting mine off.
