Guest guest
Hi Everyone! It's so good to be back! I missed you all, throughout the day I managed to read all 315 emails! Anyway, I have a question, our first appt with an endo isn't until Jan 11th, and could find this out later, but I'm really curious if anyone knows what this means. A report I recently got in the mail from our geneticist says, " Although catch-up growth often occurs during adolescence, the final height is still less than normal ( -3.6 SD ). " I've since been told by Dasia's PT, the SD is standard deviation, and she guessed that the -3.6 is possibly inches below what is considered average height. Anyone know for sure? If so, would this standard be considered " with " the use of GH? Can any RSS adults possibly answer, that even with GH, height sometimes still does not get close to 5ft? I understand if this might be too personal, but I just have no clue, if some of you, most of you, or any of the adults who post have had GHT, or if it wasn't widely used when you were children. Or, if there is an average final height for girls who get GHT? I thought since you have the adult site RSS People, that you may have some answers. Just when I think I'm starting to get things figured out, I realize how little I actually know about RSS! Especially since it has taken so long to get in to see an endo, which will hopefully answer so much more about Dasia's prognosis. I feel there is nothing wrong with small, in fact, I've become very partial to small! As I'm sure we all have! I would just feel better if I knew what to expect. BTW, I just want to say, the confidence, and intelligence that has been shown by the RSS adults here, makes me that much more proud to be the parent of an RSS child. I think to defeat the trials that RSS brings, makes for a much stronger, even more capable, fighter on the inside of you. I love hearing from all of you, and hope you continue to join us, and post here! Proud Mom to Dasia Rose 21mo 17.2lbs 30.5in Avery 6, Jaden 3 --------------------------------- Yahoo!
