Guest guest
I see lots of new names on the board. I had my first surgery the 26th of April, then again on 12 May due to hardware failure. During my first surgery my lingual nerve was damaged so on the 4th of aug I will have a nerve graft. The nerve will come from my ankle. The best the OS is hoping for is that the pain in my tongue will go away and that I will get most of the feeling back in my tongue. The main goal is to stop my pain. My tongue feels like it has been burned ( pizza burn) I was taking metadone and that did no good so after 3 months of class A pain meds, I took myself off everything. They did nothing but make me sleepy & talk like I was in the bottle. My good news is that on the 25th of Aug I will get my braces off. My teeth and jaw are perfect, it just too bad my tongue is so bad. I hope that you all are doing well and don't let me scare you. I have the leading lingual nerve Doc in the country and he has never heard of this kind of damage durning BSSO. I'll be in a text book someday or at least a research paper.
