Guest guest
Easy for us to say, but US$5.00 is about ¥40 (the ¥ standing for Chinese Yuan, not Japanese Yen), and I was told that when you compare standards of living, salaries, etc., their prices in Yuan cause about the same " pain " to the pocketbook as our prices in dollars do to us. So, in other words, for a native Chinese, the meal would be the equivalent of our spending more than $40. --Steve At 8:04 PM -0800 1/21/04, Debbie McNeice wrote: >OH WOW. $5.00 for a DINNER!
