Help, Tubes and partial adnoidectomy

Well, here we are, exactly 8 months after Emerence's 3rd set of

tubes. I was looking in her ear today and lo and behold, blue

plastic. Yep, every 8 months, almost exactly even to the day, her

right ear spits the tube out. Do you think it has a timer! What is

up with that! So, I called her ENT today and she said probably

another set and I asked for Zithromax until our appt 12/6 to fend off

infections (when she gets one after the tube spits, her eardrum

ruptures). We have discussed a partial adnoidectomy since the last

set of tubes but she wanted Emerence to be heavier before doing this,

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. (the good thing is that Dr. Chong (her

ENT) laughs along with me - she is really good with Emerence and has

learned quite a bit about RSS/SGA during the past few years). So,

anyone out there had the partial adnoidectomy with tubes, recovery

time, hosptial admission (hwo many days?)

Hi Judith,

What is the name of the doctor that did 's surgery? Jordan may need to

get tubes in addition to adenoidectomy.

had a partial adnoidectomy, partial tonsillectomy and ear

tubes in June 2003. We had it done in NYC with a doctor that worked

with Dr H patients before. is on a gtube. At midnight we

switched from formula to pedialite. At about 4 am we shut the pump

off. We had to be at the hospital at 6 am. His surgery was

schedule first in the day due to the RSS. was admitted

overnight as a precaution only. By around 10 am he was in recovery

with the pump going again. We were in a regular room around noon

and he came home the next morning. started eating soft foods

the same evening as the surgery. BTW, 's right tube is still

in his ear from that surgery. The left one came out long ago.
