Guest guest
Esther, I just got a vitamix mostly bc I want to make bean flour. But a week ago members on the list sent recipes for soups they make in the vitamix. I'm really looking foward to trying some of them. I've been making smoothies for my family with yogurt, blueberries, spinach, oj, and apples. I take the seeds out of the apples but they go in with he skins. The vitamix doesn't shoot out pulp like a juicer will. It will grind whatever you put in there. And my daughter who is on a temporary phase of "criticizing" (yet understanding the rationale) of me making everything we eat told me I made the best applesauce she's ever eaten before. Sometimes she just gets it. And that was made in the vitamix. Is there no pulp left after juicing(like a blender)? If so do you get a clear juice product or a thicker product than a regular juicer? Is there any residue to clean out? Esther, The Vitamix is good and powerful blender. It pulverizes the fruit or vegetable completely and mixes it with whatever liquid you use. I like mine, and use it quite a bit for making thick, smooth soups. It's easy enough to clean. However, it will NOT produce a clear juice. If you want clear juice, look at the Omega 800x (8005 or 8006 is the current model; mine is 8002). It's an excellent juicer, produces really nice stuff and is amazingly easy to clean. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
