Guest guest
Patti I only went there once for a day to get a second opinion and thorough review. I was impressed with her. Had I lived closer I would have certainly returned. > > Bruce....oh my gosh.......that is exactly who I am scheduled to see on Dec 16th.....I go up next Tuesday for the blood work, PFTs and a CT scan before my appt with Dr. Strek the following week..... Guest guest
Thanks for allowing me in the group. I am 46 yrs old, and diagnosed with Ulcer Colitis days ago. I'm just searching prior topics now, but wanted to say hello and would appreciate any encouraging words, as I am trying to hold down an office job while suffering the headaches. I haven't made the yogurt yet - no equipment. I hope I can make a batch soon. Thank you, H.
Guest guest
Hi and welcome to SCD. I was diagnosed as " mild UC " about a year and a half ago after a bout of colitis at the age of 53. I found SCD shortly after that and thankfully have had good results. The first thing I did was make yogurt before I started SCD. I figured if I can do that, I could do the diet. I own 2 yogourmets and make a double batch at one time to save time. This works for me. Others have used different methods. It is definitely time consuming and overwhelming at first, along with the emotions and feeling bad from being sick, but the effort is worth it. Hang in there- keep reading, learning, and posting- and getting used to cooking a different way. One positive is that I have become quite a good cook with practice and my family loves it You will too. Hope you feel better soon. Guest guest
, this is a wonderful, warm, supportive and incredibly knowledgeable group. Glad you found it. Really, tho equipment needed to make yogurt is a thermometer. I did at first borrow a neighbor's yogurt maker w little jars. then was gifted a Yogourmet. Then found one I really like, the Yolife yogurt maker, now carried at Digestive Wellness, and inexpensive. I liked it bec it allows the use of any jar. Still, I happily found the best way was using the lightbulb in my oven. I found with a 40 watt bulb, my oven kept it at just 100 degrees. If I need to have one for travel, I have the Yogourmet. Enjoy your when you do make it. best, Ruth topic (4) 3.1.New to GroupPosted by: " H " Harberiffic@... harberifficMon Sep 6, 2010 6:54 am (PDT) Thanks for allowing me in the group.
