Hi,

My daughter is 12, she was diagnosed with Crohn's about 18 months ago. It took 8

months to discover what she had because she didn't have typical symptoms. She

was having leg pain. To this day she has no diarrhea or bloody stool. But she is

so thin & appears malnourished. We started on sulfsalazine & the macrobiotic

diet & within about 5 months her blood was normal so we took herb off meds &

tried to manage with the diet. She just went on asacol about 6 wks ago cuz she

regressed & we couldn't get it under control. The macrobiotics did help but

never got her over the hump, she was always struggling with something. Yesterday

we started SCD, we didn't start at the basics but jumped right into all the

foods. Tonight she is in screaming pain & cannot walk, we are likely headed to

the emergency room. I am not sure if maybe the dairy set her off? I am worried

because I have read that this diet doesn't help with arthritis & her symptoms

present like arthritis. She looks as if she is cripple & it is heart breaking.

I am not sure if we should abandon the diet & go back to what we were doing. It

has been impossible to find anyone like her with only these symptoms & if there

is anyone out there with any advise we would be so grateful to hear it, please.

We were so hopeful when we found SCD, it makes so much sense but maybe not for

us?

Thank you,
