Guest guest
Hi Everyone. I am into the diet 4 days (today is my 5th) and yesterday I started experiencing all kinds of stomach upset. I woke up this morning feeling like a Mac Truck hit me--exhausted, bellyache, body aches, spacey, etc. Can I assume this is detoxification and it will pass? Do I wait until I feel better before adding simple cooked fruits and veggies? Also, I believe I may have fructose malabsorption. Does anyone know how to address this on the diet? Avoiding fructose pretty much cuts out all the allowed carbs (half the fruits and honey). Thanks!
Guest guest
Congratulations! It sounds like die-off to me and that, my friend, is a wonderful thing. I know it sucks and you feel like hell, but just hang in there while your body fights this out. Epsom Salt baths can be beneficial in soothing some of these flu-like symptoms (everyone has a different tolerance, but I can use about 1 handful in a full bath). By no means should you still be doing the intro, but you should not add much new to your diet because you won't be able to tell how you are feeling while these other symptoms persist. On a brighter note, you will probably start feeling better within a week so once you feel back to yourself, you can start adding more foods. I'm not sure, but I think you can take enzymes to help with the fruit digestion. Does anyone know if that is true or if I completely made that up? No-Fenol is the one I am thinking of that helps with fruit digestion. -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 20mg Prednisone > > Hi Everyone.
