Guest guest
Spec..Do you have another name? About dry mouth...medications are notorious for causing dry mouth. I use Biotene products..the mouth wsh and tooth paste specifically. they really do help. I also keep sugar-free candy near by. I hope that's helpful. I don't recall dry mouth having any relationship to worsening IPF. Coughing can make your mouth dry...coughing mor can be from anything! The weather changes can make you cough! Too much talking can make ME cough! Don't think that everytime you cough it's because of worsening IPF! I've noticed severe dry mouth the last few days. Somewhere, I've read that this is a symptom of ipf and that it is progressing. Guest guest
Spec, I know of no relationship between dry mouth and progression of IPF. Dry mouth can be caused by many things, meds, upper respiratory infections, cough, snoring and mouth breathing at night, lack of humidity both indoors and out in the winter and there are even a couple of connective tissue diseases where dry mouth is a symptom. Z suggested the Biotene products and they are excellent. If you don't get relief from that you might want to get your doctors opinion about what is going on.
