Guest guest
Help!! I know that there's someone out there that can help me. I have a good friend of mine who is having problems with getting her insurance to approve reconstruction/panni. The denial was due to the PCP's chart notes do not match with the surgeon's letter for request. The PCP is not Bariatric informed and will not spend the time to discuss multiple issues. The Bariatric surgeon's letter specifically stated issues related to his office visits and not her PCP's notes; therefore was denied. The Bariatric surgeon's office took pics, but only focused on the front (panni) which is really not the issue here. The issue is extra skin rolling onto the back, causing sleep problems, back pain, major discomfort. Would a suggestion be to take photos showing the folds of skin in the back?? She knows that the reconstruction would be to fix the front, but it also would take care of the back issue. Please let me know what we can do to help her get this approved. Any suggestions would be helpful!! Tina (jelly bean toes)
Guest guest
I had the problem of folds of skin pulling and hanging in the back as well as the front. The weight of it was responsible for a lot of my lower back pain. My PS recommendation was to do a Belt Lipectomy..an all around the body cut. Tummy tuck with abdominalplasty in front and a pull down/pull up in back with a small butt lift. I also had lipo on the flanks and butt..sort of a lower body lift . I am very pleased with the results. I still have lower back pain due to arthritis and yes it hurts some but not as bad as it once was. Another thing about the excess skin front and back, I didn't realize it until he did the before pictures but I had become very sway-backed...trying to balance all the weight. My before and after pictures are on the plastic surgery sight under from TX. You might also need to change your PCP to a more friendly one. Good luck... in Houston
