Guest guest
Thank God for people like you! I agree highly. If you are even somewhat informed going into a Doctors office, they see you as a threat!!! My docotr has taken offense to my "smidgen of knowledge". He is not the first one either. ALL of them have so far (since the late 1990's when I was diagnosed with Crohns). I wish there was some sort of powerhouse we could all join and go against these jerks!! They have all this technology, equipment, skills, talent, ambition, education....and all they have to offer are drugs that do NOT work to get to the ROOT of the problem. We are a society that needs quick fixes and the drugs provide that, I agree with that and many people need this to get things under control. But don't tell me that diet or food changes in your life are not going to help solve the problem, Mr. Doctor!! We have been practicing western medicine for what a few hundred years? Versus the thousands of years that Eastern medicine has under it's belt. Arrogance I tell you! I am fed up with the local GI's I've been working with for the last 15 years. Either they are intentionally lying, or they are so uninformed, it's ridiculous. SCD is a very good way to go. I have not even began to unleash my frustration, anger, sadness, and distate for what is happening in the medical community. But this is a very good place to vent, because at least you all have open minds and don't have your head stuck in hole somewhere, covering your ears and going on as if nothing is wrong. I know, I know, it;s all about the money and drugs....and brainwashing of sorts. Wow, that felt good to vent. I have been meaning to write something like this for a long time. I hope you all understand my frustration. Anyone recommend a good GI doctor in Seattle. One that believes in the Holistic/Natural side and even SCD? , WA State Re: Skin Reaction - Food Related Posted by: "artfulch7" jeunef@... artfulch7 Mon Oct 11, 2010 9:20 pm (PDT) > > I haven't been so lucky with other specialists, although I usually,> eventually, find one that helps. All that research paying off! >> > Kim M.Know what? My experience has been just the opposite! I think the more competent and intelligent we appear to SOME doctors, the more threatening is may be so they react negatively. I'm an extremely feminine and low-key person but I DO come across as well-informed. I use proper terminology and the responses I've gotten over the years, even when I take in journal articles, usually amounts to, "It hasn't been scientifically proven"... Dismissal even in the face of documentation! None so blind as those who will not see.I HAVE seen slowly-growing acceptance, though. VERY slow-growing. May I live so long.... I'm really TIRED, after almost 40 yrs., of being so far ahead of the medical profession. Tired -- and unspeakably grateful!! But I AM living long enough to hear my kidz slowly accepting that what I said 35 yrs. ago is TRUE. ANOTHER great blessing!!Grateful Artful CarolFormer me: From babyhood - CFS, Depression, Candida, Severe Chemical, Inhalant, and Food Allergies.
