Some pre-menopausal DS post-op women supplement successfully with iron pills, and others seem to need infusions. My guess is that about 10% take extra iron supplements (pills) like Niferex, but that is just a wild-ass guess. A few men have also needed infusions, but only one or two that I can recall in the last 2-3 years. >and what percentage have revised from RNY to DS. A handful post on the DS and DS_PostOp_Friends lists. My guess is that only a few percent of the DS post-ops have revised from the RNY. Those that have seem to be doing well as far as weight loss is concerned, but I have no idea about their need for iron supplementation post-DS. --Steve > >Nor Cal -- Steve Goldstein, age 63 Lap BPD/DS on May 2, 2001 Dr. Elariny, INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Virginia Starting (05/02/01) BMI = 51 BMI on 08/04/02 = 35 (-105 lb.)
