Hi there,I am very curious about this as my daughter's right clavicle was broken during birth (I actually felt it). I hear that it happens very often and that babies don't get bothered by it. My daughter did not show any signs of pain, she nursed normally on both sides however she developed facial asymmetry, where her right side was fuller (her cheek) and her lip was pulled down a bit. At first we thought it was plagio but after that was ruled out by the tech and she was evaluated by a team of facial plastic surgeons who specialize in facial asymmetries, we were told that she had a very slight tort and that we should hold her in a position to straighten her neck muscles. She is now 14 months and the asymmetry although better, is still there. I think that with

the link of broken clavicle and tort, I will go back to the hospital and see what else we can do. Please let me know what you find out from your sources about ways to treat this and I will share what information I receive. I'm really interested to see what comes of this because my son has tort and I think had a broken clavicle that went undiagnosed. My (much younger than me) brother had a broken clavicle from birth, and it wasn't discovered until a few weeks later when my mother pointed out the knot of bone on his clavicle to the doctor. It turns out that was the reason he only wanted to nurse on one side at first. My son also has a knot on his clavicle which I assume was caused from a break at birth since he had a really difficult delivery. It's on the same side as his tort, but I had no idea they might be related. If there's any way this might

be treatable, I'd like to know. Both x-rays clearly show a break that had already healed and was calcifying. > > > I took her the following day to my

She has had tort pretty much since birth. It is my belief that she had a broken clavical since birth. She screamed pretty much from day 1 till about 12 weeks. the broken bone was the trigger to our medical journey. we had our appointment with the Orthopedic Specialist yesterday morning. They re-xrayed Camille and confirmed that at some point her clavicle was broken. It is now healed and healed correctly so there is nothing that they have to do about / for it. He did say that broken clavicles can cause Tort and that Tort prior to birth can cause a clavicle to be broken during birth because of the tightness. So who knows what caused what. We will never know. He did state that the broken clavicle is not the reason we cannot get rid of the 8 degree tilt we still have. Camille has been in therapy for 10 months now and I just can't get that last little bit to go away. Camille graduates from her Danmar helmet on January 14th. I am hoping that minus the helmet weight even though it is not much will help her get rid of the tilt. Our therapist is suggesting stopping therapy until after we are done with the helmet and possibly until Camille is older and can participate in therapy on her own instead of streaching her myself as it appears we are at a standstill....

End result is no one knows what caused what and it is not hurting her recovery.
