Guest guest
Hello - In answer to the mom who just asked if sitting hunched over can cause scoliosis, the answer would be " kyphosis " , not scoliosis, which is the curving of the spine forward (like hunchback). However.... unless the child had a genetic predisposition to that, I am guessing most physicians would say that many kids sit hunched over, and that after 40+ years of doing this, yes, as an elderly position you may see some forward movement of the shoulders.... But she should take her child to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon should she have any concerns whatsoever. Jenn Salem

Guest guest
I've been doing research on PubMed the last hour or so. I found your answer. It said that posture does NOT impact scoliosis, although it can cause an increase in pain and muscle stuff....
