Guest guest
For several months now I have had recurring sores on the inside of my upper lip. These usually start out as a " macerated " area (like someone's been at work on the tissue with a meat tenderizer) and generally progress to a canker sore or just a very painful mass of raw meat (tissue). The edges of my teeth seem to aggravate the soreness. I have tried eliminating various things from my diet as well as different vitamins and minerals, have seen both my doc and dentist--neither of whom have a clue. The latter prescribed an ointment I can use (inside my mouth -- yuck! but I use it) which provides some relief, but NOTHING seems to make the condition go away. It flares up, goes away on its own for very short periods, and then returns. I've done Google search after Google search, all my nutritional manuals, and Merck online. I am stumped, and right now, very very miserable. I did not go to breakfast with my family this am (in from Denver for the holiday) bcuz my mouth hurts so badly I can't bear to eat anything. Can ANYone shed some light? Have anything similar? Have any suggestions or bright ideas what else to check out? Carol A
