Guest guest
Hi Jodi, Dr. H put Jordan back on Periactin 2 weeks ago and told us to start with 1/2 a dose for 1 week before dinner and then full dose week 2 and then 1/2 dose before breakfast with full dosebefore dinner week 3 and so on... Do you think it would be better to continue with the 1/2 dose before dinner for 2 or 3 weeks to get him adjusted? I notice that he gets hyper (he's always hyper so I don't know if it's due to Periactin) and then very sleepy. Since he's in school now I am afraid that when I give him the morning dose that he will fall asleep in school or be very cranky because he wants to sleep and is unable to. Any suggestions? Guest guest
, To be honest, we were never able to give Max his Periactin during the day. He just got too tired no matter what dose we gave him. We chose to just work on the evening dose. Why don't you try working Jordan up to the full dose at night and see what happens? He may have an increase in appetite that is sufficient to get him through. If necessary, by Christmas vacation he will be ready to try the morning dose and you can see what it does to him while he is not in school. You may have to try 1/4 of the dose first and then just leave it at that. Jodi Z
Guest guest
- I liked Jodi's response. Ian initially was tired and " wobbly " in the beginning of his regiment with Periactin in the evenings. I've noticed he has trouble falling asleep in the evenings now because he seems a little " hyper " . Let me know how the bigger dose goes. I'd be interested to hear how Jordon reacts. Thinking of you. - H > > Hi Jodi, > > Dr. H put Jordan back on Periactin 2 weeks ago and told us to start with 1/2 > a dose for 1 week before dinner and then full dose week 2 and then 1/2 dose > before breakfast with full dosebefore dinner week 3 and so on...
