Guest guest
Hi Aaliyah, I've been there on the see how the next scope looks, I understand your fear & worry. But just be calm and see what the scope shows. Have you been taking your ulcer meds? I can't remember if it was the nexium 2 x a day, right? That has really helped the ulcers in my pouch and I didn't have to have the surgery to repair the ulcers. I know of someone on another list that I just read, am not an active member, who had surgery to repair his ulcer. He is doing very well, it's just like starting all over again he said. When I talked to my surgeon about having to have surgery on the ulcer, he wanted me to just come in and get it over with. He has done a number of these types of repairs and it almost seemed to me as though he somewhat blamed himself, as there is something to do with where the cut and snip that can actually cause more acid. He said that the larger the pouch the more acid. He said he would use part of the old stomach and remake the pouch. He would also cut the vegas nerve, which is what produces the acid. Now, I was on heavy sedation drugs with Kidney stones at the time I talked to him, so I could be totally wrong. And every doctor may have a different way of doing it. And it may depend on where the ulcers are. So my dear, please don't worry, that is the worst part. Take good calm care of yourself, baby yourself and take your meds, which I'm sure you are doing. E-mail me any time, I'm sometimes slow to respond, but I'm there if you need to chat.
