Dana, your probably talking about Jennie's macaroons. Yes there was a email

from someone a couple weeks ago saying that they had changed the recipe. I

would just go back to eating easily digested foods for your body for a couple

days. Don't stress about it because stress is a bad thing. Be thankful that it

was only once in 5 years. Katy

Help!!!! Should I do the intro again?! I'm doing zero honey and zero fruit today....!!!! Advice?! Please?!I found this on Pecanbread. Hope it helps. You have just swallowed the wrong foodQuickly take enzymes and lots of SCD yogurt. If there is regression that lasts long, go back to the intro diet and then, gradually reintroduce the foods.A common way to deal with infractions is to give activated charcoal, lots of fluids, epsom baths, continue any probiotics (essential) and go to intro type foods for a day or two, depending on how the gut reacts to the infraction. You just want to help that junk out of the body as quickly as possible and to minimize the damage.Anne-Marie in AustraliaIBS 2007SCD 4 months

The last time I ate these macaroons, about a couple weeks ago, I did not look at the can but was surprised the next couple of days to have cramping, gassiness and looser stools. Now, reading these messages it all makes sense. I made some soup, and upped my intake of s.boulardi and enzymes. I think I'm mostly back to normal. Don't get worked up or stressed out - use the tools we now all have (knowledge, soup) and you should be fine.

As it turns out, I've had horrible stomach pains and gas and just a mess for the last three days. As I reached into the can to grab one of my favorite macaroons (100 percent legal) I read the can: they went from using pure raw honey to cane juice with honey mixed in!!!!!! In 5 years I've never had this much illegal in my system!!!!! Help!!!! Should I do the intro again?! I'm doing zero honey and zero fruit today....!!!! Advice?! Please?!Sent from my iPhone

giot it! fluids, i've been great with the epsom salt baths, and i'll get on the probiotics stat! i also intuitively started taking loads of GSE which I think has helped a bit. Whew! This is nottttt fun. Jeeze, if I wanted to cheat, I wish I ate a brownie that I at least reallllly enjoyed ;!!! And I didn't want to cheat!

I may do the intro in the next few days to be safe rather than sorry. the intro is really invigorating every year or so for a week, anyway....!

FINGERS CROSSED this goes away fast! xx Dana

Quickly take enzymes and lots of SCD yogurt. If there is regression that lasts long, go back to the intro diet and then, gradually reintroduce the foods.

Hi, everyone

I just had a couple rather trivial questions.

I've been wondering what active charcoal is. Where can I buy it? Are there any

side effects that may result from taking it? Does it make your bowel movements

black at all?

Thank you very much,

Frances

Places like Vitamin Shoppe or whole foods. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Activated_charcoal#Medical_applications"Charcoal biscuits were sold in England starting in the early 19th century, originally as an antidote to flatulence and stomach trouble.[11]"Tablets or capsules of activated charcoal are used in many countries as an over-the-counter drug to treat diarrhea, indigestion, and flatulence.[12] There is some evidence of its effectiveness as a treatment for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS),[13] and to prevent diarrhea in cancer patients who have received irinotecan.[14] It can interfere with the absorbency of some medications, and lead to unreliable readings in medical tests such as the guaiac card test.[15] Activated charcoal is also used for bowel preparation by reducing intestinal gas content before abdominal radiography to visualize bile and pancreatic and renal stones. A type of charcoal biscuit has also been marketed as a pet care product."Apparently it is also used in poisonings, in order to bind harmful chemicals to the charcoal and prevent it from being absorbed by the GI tract. http://www.drugs.com/sfx/activated-charcoal-side-effects.htmlSide Effects of Activated Charcoal - for the ConsumerActivated Charcoal SuspensionAll medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects.
