Guest guest
, I have severe allergies also and had surgery July 22nd. I didn't take my medicine in the beginning, but strangely didn't need it. Most of us are put on steriods for a while after surgery, and I don't know if this helped keep things under control. I know my son's allergists gives him steriods a couple times a year to keep the swelling in his nose down. I didn't actually start taking my meds again until about 3 weeks postop, because it wasn't until then that I needed them. Also, I'm sure you can talk to your OS and primary care physician about possible drug interactions. If there are none, and even if you are wired or tightly banded, I'm sure you can get liquid versions of your allergy meds. If necessary, I'm sure they could give you children's strength and figure out an adult dose.
