Guest guest
I hear you, Mommy! Love IS blind. I didn't see my son's flat spot for the longest time. I just had a general sense that his head wasn't " right. " Emerson looks like she has narrowing of the back of her skull like my son did, and I think from looking at the pic from above that she also a flat spot in the back on her left side. I would have expected her flat spot to be on the right back since she has left tort, but maybe I just can't see well from the picture. Either way, you're absolutely right. What is your plan? Are you aware of the helmet fitters in your area? You can get a free evaluation, in case you weren't aware. Are you bringing her for physical therapy? Her tort looks severe from the picture you posted, so you should definately get it treated if you're not yet. Let me know if you need more info. > > Hello all, > > My little girl Emerson has Tort, and I think that she has experienced some flattening of the head in a few spots, although it's hard for me to see, as her biased mommy If you have a second, I'd appreciate some feedback from other parents who are dealing with plagiocephaly. > > Her pictures are under the E file, I included 4- a top, right side, left side, and front view. >
Guest guest
Well, the flattening must be apparent to everyone else- I say this because she was sent in for a CT scan to rule out Craniosynostosis after our most recent visit to the pediatrician! He was concerned about the shape of her head, and about a ridge that he was able to feel. Fortunately, she does not have it, but I guess this means that her head needs some attention. We've been actively repositioning her for 2 months now, and I've become neurotic about it- to the point where I can't get myself to put her down during the day. The tort has gotten MUCH better over the last two weeks. I've been amazed with the improvement we've seen with her neck muscles. We have an appointment next week with Cranial Tech- our insurance won't cover the helmet, but if our little one needs it, we'll make it work. >
Guest guest
Our son was diagnosed with plagio when he was about four months old and we didn't see it. By the time he was six months old it was quite flat. If you don't see it now, it is possible that if it does get worse, you'll notice it then. But, if you do repositioning, it may resolve the issue. So, hopefully, your daughter's head shape is mild and won't get worse. >
