This poster is not quite a year out, so can not be approved yet, but

has a serious medical question. Can anyone help?

>>I'm looking for advice here. I will be a year out Jan 23. I had a

leak with major complications at the time of surgery. As of 7 months

ago I was given a clean bill of health. Now I'm back to square one.

I have another leak where the old one was. Help! the doctors have

never seen this happen. They are consulting other phyisians about

this. Meanwhile I'm at a standstill. Has anyone else heard of this

or gone through it. Please help if at all possible.

Thank you

Sally, I am currently dealing with a similar situation with a patient of

mine. Have they cultured the area and have they checked for a fungus?

When you speak of the leak - are you referring to a seroma or an

infection? If you don't heal soon, I would ask them to refer you to a

wound care center - they do quite amazing work. Actually, I had a

similar problem after wls and I went to our local wound care center as

nothing else seemed to work.

Good Luck, Amber/FLRN

Is the " leak " interior or exterior? I had the impression it was not a

" wound " , but a tear somewhere inside along a suture line.

One man in our group has had a miserable time with his. I would either go

back to your surgeon or better yet find a specialist to go to.
