Guest guest
this has happened to me also, and my blood sugar was fine when i was overweight. I have had a couple episodes myself, all three times have been in the afternoon about 4:00, had not eaten too many carbs or sugar and my blood sugar fell so low (at least i felt like it did---i do not have the little thing to check it) one time i was shaking so bad that a co-worker had to open a package of crackers for me. I have been paranoid ever since that it will happen again! so here is my question for the " experts " : What can i do to prevent this, should i eat less carbs, or maybe eat more carbs or a little sugar in the afternoon. I usually eat about 5 small meals a day (this may not be right either) and usually a meal about 3:00 like a lean cuisine or left overs from lunch. Should i maybe switch to a protein drink??? thanks for the help, i would ask my surgeon but frankly he is not helpful at all------great surgeon but lacks on the after care (he tells me to eat only 3 meals a day with no snacks and no protein drinks, ever! i'd sure enough pass out then!) My main question is, were the members with low blood sugars diabetic when overweight, or is this something totally new for them also?
