Guest guest
Hey, Its , Maddison's mom. Last time I posted I was in the delima about whether Maddison needed a feeding tube and if she was too old. Well since then we have seen our GI and her surgery is scheduled for Nov. 22. I am ok with it now and almost releaved knowing that it will help her so much. My question is when she goes back to school will she need anyone just for her self during the day. We are only planning to do feeds at night and not during the day. But the teacher mentioned that she might be able to have a para pro (teacher aide) just for her. So I looked in to that and this morning at school the assistant principal told me that (in nice words) they would continue to encourage her to eat during the day but that she would not have one just for her? What do yall think about this? Since I have not already been there I don't know what might or might not happen? What has some of your experiences been? HELP For almost a week now she has started eating real good at school and at home. The GI doctor said the wound area won't need to be cleaned at school or anything. And since we are planning on only doing feeds at night, I don't know if she would need anyone especially just for her at school or not. I know that she is going to be full in the mornings and not going to want breakfast and that it will probably throw her off for a while until her stomach get stretched out.
