Guest guest
My son has the same exact thing. He also has torticollis and has been going to therapy 1 time a week since Feb. I would have your son evaluated for torticollis, since this sounds exactly like what has. Keep us posted on what the ped says > > Hi, > > Have a question about repositioning that I hope someone might be able to provide some insight. > > My son has plagio on the right side which is the direction he like to face when sleeping. > > On the advice of the Ped, we starting getting him to look to the left by putting more interesting stuff on the left and also turning his head to the left when sleeping. > > However, after doing this for about a week, we start noticing that when he looks forward, his head is taking a tilt to the left side. Guest guest
Thanks, We have an appt with the Ped tomorrow morning to have him take a look. At least we can point him in the right direction based on this. > > > > Hi, > > > > Have a question about repositioning that I hope someone might be able to provide some insight. Guest guest
Sounds like left torticollis. The " moderate " and " severe " examples on this link are of left torticollis: http://www.cranialtech.com/index.php?option=com_content & view=article & id=109:tort\ icollis-examples & catid=53:torticollis & Itemid=77 The stretches for it are in the " Files " section of this site. Plagiocephaly/files/Torticollis%20Help/ Click " Torticollis Stretching.doc " and scroll down to " left tilt " . FYI, my PT told me to do them 6x/day for 3 reps of 15 seconds each time, and she said NOT to hold the chin or anywhere on the jaw like the picture in this document shows as it can cause damage. Hold somewhere on the top of the head instead. If you don't see some improvement in a few weeks doing the stretches at home, make sure to ask your pediatrician for a referral to a physical therapist. Or, you can go to a PT right away if you prefer. Guest guest
Brought Dylan to his Ped today. Diagnose as Left Torticollis. He referred us to a PT for Dylan. We called one of the Therapist and he said that normally what happens is that we visit for the initial session and he will also show us how to do the stretches at home. And then we will go back about every two weeks to review the progress. Does this sound like what most people are doing? Also I know that each person is different, but how soon should we be expecting any improvement? > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > > > Have a question about repositioning that I hope someone might be able to provide some insight.
