Guest guest
Well all in all I don't think I did too badly. But you won't believe what I ended up " overeating " on. I made myself some cranberry sauce using granulated Splenda. Last night I decided to have a slice of cheddar cheese and a little of the cranberry sauce. It was so good that I had to make more cranberry sauce. The warm cranberry sauce and cheddar cheese slice was too good. I have no idea what the carb count was. It didn't bother the old pouch. But I do know it took a whole box of Splenda to sweeten two bags of cranberries, so there had to be a lot of carbs in that amount of Splenda. I was just mad that I went back for seconds and thirds. But like I said could be worse. If cranberry sauce with Splenda was my dessert yesterday ... I am not doing badly at all. hehehehe. BTW, if anyone else finds that you can overdo the cheese thing I have been paying a little more for portion control but get the individually wrapped one-ounce portions of Extra Sharp Cracker Barrel. OK yesterday I overdid, but normally this is my way of making sure that I get no more than one ounce when I do have it. I made my cranberry sauce with 1 cup of Splenda, 1 bag (1#) cranberries, and half a cup of orange sugar-free DaVinci syrup. It was a bit tart, but not bad. I also added a touch of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. I took this to a dinner we were invited to, and didn't mention to anyone that it was made without sugar. The stuff went like hotcakes, everyone raved about it being SO much better than the sauce from a can, and that I MUST make it for any more dinners I go to! LOL! I did tell one guest, privately, as she is diabetic and was worried about having any of the cranberry sauce. Her hubby kept worrying that she was being so liberal with it! LOL! ~~ Lyn
